Inspiration:
While in Berlin this weekend, I got to check out the installation Murder of Crows by Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller, who have been working with sound for some time.
The exhibition is the Hamburger Banhof in the main hall of what was once a train station and consists of 98 speakers placed in the room playing a special stereophonically recorded soundtrack. There are different parts to the piece (from musical to vocal to atmospheric), but the sound is always vivid and it feels incredible to be immersed in such a rich sonic environment where you can place where each different part of the soundscape originates and you can move about to experience the piece in different ways.
